Escort Carrier’s Fine Record

LONDON, January 10

In eight months of Atlantic convoy work not a single merchantman under the protection of the escort carrier H.M.S. Biter has been sunk. Since April, 1943, she has steamed over 45,000 miles in the Atlantic, with her aircraft patrolling over convoys readv to pounce on U-boats. To her credit she has two U-boats sunk by a combined attack by her aircraft and surface escorts arid three probably damaged by aircraft.
