BOWLING
TIMARU CLUB A mixed fours afternoon was held at Timaru on Saturday for trophies prei sented by Mr C. H. Manning. Seven rinks were occupied, the members of both the mens and women’s cluos spending a most enjoyable afternoon. Three games were played, the winners, E. Queree, Miss Catter. Mrs Sewell, and C. H. Manning being undefeated. CHRISTINE HANAN TROPHY A fours bowling competition was played on the Highfield green in ideal weather, between teams from the Park. ; Ashbury, Kia Toa, Timaru, Highfield, and West End women’s clubs for the , Christine Hanan trophy. The Ash- . bury Club team, Mesdames Henshaw, Home, Luck and Stevenson were the I winners, going through without a loss. Mrs Moore extended a welcome to the 1 Mayoress (Mrs A. E. S. Hanan) and thanked her for the handsome trophy and said that all had spent a pleasant ’ day. Mrs Hanan then presented the trophy to the winners and also congra- ' tulated the Ashbury Club for their suc--1 cess in the tournaments and the cham- ■ pion of champions fours.
