VOLUNTARY AIDS

New Year Message Advice that a joint New Year message from Miss Sheila Mackenzie. Dominion Commandant, St. John Voluntary Aids, and Miss Iris M. Crooke. Director-General, Red Cross Voluntary Aids, had been sent to New Zealand Voluntary Aids, was contained in a letter from Miss Crooke to the Southland Red Cross Voluntary Aid secretary, Mrs W. R. Mayhew. The message reads:— “At the beginning of another year we send our greetings to all Voluntary Aids in New Zealand. We are proud of your record of achievement, of your standard of work, and of your willingness to serve when called on. We feel that you are doing your utmost to fulfil the ideals of your organisations, and of nursing. "To you we send this message: Carry on with your service to humanity. Be loyal and true to your organisations, your calling, and your fellow-members. Be steadfast in your ideals. Ensure that your effort and your work will be of the highest standard. Remember that safeguarding the public health Is a first line of defence, and you are in the regiment to help carry out that defence. To all we wish a happy year of activities and progress, with the realisation that your united efforts are helping towards the establishment of a world victory and peace.”
