SEAPLANE LOST

New Zealander Drowned

(6.30 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 11. Engineer Officer G. G. Lambert, of Auckland, was among those drowned when the British Overseas Airways seaplane Golden Horn was lost after a test flight at Lisbon after being fitted with a new engine. The plane caught fire and returned to Lisbon, where the passengers were landed. It later sank, leaving their luggage floating. Engineer Officer Lambert, -.. bo was educated at the Dargaville District School, was a member of the Union Airways staff in New Zealand before joining British Overseas Airways in 1940. He was in the Catalina which flew the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser to England in June, 1941.
