“RAMA NAMA” PRAYER
Copy Sent To Mayor
The Mayor. Mr A. E. S. Hanan, has received the following message from India, addressed to ‘‘His Worship the Lord Mayor of Timaru, Geraldine. New Zealand”: “Sirdar Dalia traya Vasudeo Gonhale, M.A., of the most respected noble and glorious Martial Maharattha House of Sirdar Gonhale, of 604 Sadashiv Pcth, Poona City, India.—My family’s ‘Rama Nama’ prayer for the success and safety of the British Empire, King Emperor and New Zealand. “The ‘Rama Nama’ prayer is our highest prayer, and is believed by us to bring a complete victory to the just cause, and we firmly believe in the justice of the British Empire cause. Down with the Nazi-Jap tyrants.”
On the other side of the paper is the “Rama Nama” prayer written in what appears to be Sanskrit.
