TOWN CLERK RESIGNS The resignation of Mr E. R. Hopwood as Town Clerk at Geraldine was accepted with regret at a meeting of the Geraldine Borough Council on Wednesday. ANNUAL RAINFALL OF 26.55 INCHES A total of 26.55 ins of rain was recorded at Geraldine during 1942, compared with 32.77 in in 1941 and 28.92iil in 1940. The year was an exceptionally dry one, but not so dry as 1939, when only 18.84 ins were recorded. Less than one inch of rain was recorded in each of the months of April, June, August and September, when June and July retained their reputation as being among the consistently dry months of the year. The wettest month was October, when there was a recording of 5.94 ins and floods occurred, but this hardly compared with 10.13 ins in March, 1941. GYMKHANA AND COUNTRY FAIR Following a conference between the Geraldine Town and Country Fair Committee and the Woodbury Gymkhana, it was agreed the Woodbury Gymkhana would be held on March 6 and the Geraldine Town and Country Fair on Easter Saturday, April 24.
