EIGHTH ARMY
Scarcely Fired Shot This Year (Rec. 11 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 6. The Eighth Army has scarcely fired a shot since the New Year began, reports the correspondent of the “Daily Express” with the armoured forces. At Wadi El Cheblr the only activity has been patrol versus patrol. The Eighth Army is being regrouped as more heavy arms roll constantly forward anil advanced units are probing Rommel's rearguard at Wadi Zemzem.
The Exchange Telegraph Agency's correspondent with the forward troops says that, the Royal Air Force rou.s German raiders when they attempt to reach the battle area. All small places through which we pass are not only evacuated but a mass of ruins.
