Assailant Commits Suicide

(N.Z.P.A.) MASTERTON, Jan. 6. Last night on a farm at Te Ore Ore, near Masterton. Peter Emerson (aged 41>. married, with one child, was found dead from shocking injuries believed to have been self-inflicted, and his parents. Mr and Mrs Henry Emerson, both aged 69. were found suffering from head injuries, lacerations and shock. It is understood that Emerson attacked his parents with an axe. Mr and Mrs Emerson were admitted to the Masterton Hospital. Their condition is fairly satisfactory. At the inquest on Peter Emerson, a witness said that he had suffered head injuries three months ago. Witness believed that they were self-inflicted.
