FRENCH SHIPS
Moved To Italian Ports
(Rec. 1 a.m.)
LONDON, Jan. 4
The Lisbon correspondent of “The Times” says that it is reliably reported from Marseilles that only 16 merchantmen remain of 120 which were there when the Germans occupied the port last November. The merchantmen which have disappeared have been rushed to Italian port-s from where they can presumably replace the losses on the Tunisian and Tripolitanian routes. Marseilles Is now strongly defended. It is estimated that 20,000 of the Reichswehr are there.
