Anti-Axis Demonstrations In Italy
(Rec. 7.30) LONDON, Dec. 31. The German ambassador to Rome, von Mackensen, lodged a strong protest “with the Italian Government against the recent anti-German demonstration in Rome, Naples and Genoa ' says Reuter’s correspondent in Ankara. Von Mackensen protested that the Italian Government was not energetic enough in suppressing revoluationary movements. He is reported to have threatened German intervention if the demonstrations continued.
