SUSPENDED FOR DURATION

Contract Trips And Land Cruises At a short sitting of the No. 4 transport Licensing Authority (Mr V. Raines) in Timaru yesterday morning, six passenger service licences were reviewed for the purpose of conserving tyres and petrol and promoting coordination. Three licences were suspended for the duration and in the cases of the others, the Authority reserved his decision. Those suspended for the duration were - Land cruises and contract trips operated by the Mt. Cook and Southern Lakes Tourist Company, Limited, and contract trips by R. M. D. Elmes, of Fairlie. Decision was reserved in the following. which are operated by the Mt. Cook Company: Timaru-Hermitage. Hermitage-Queenstown and Studholme Junction-Queenstown.
