TIMARU-ST. ANDREWS BRANCH At a meeting of the Tlmaru-St. Andrews branch of the Fanners’ Union, Mr G. L. Murray presided. The transport operators wrote advising the necessity to lodge orders for transport ahead so that operators could arrange their work. On the motion of Mr p. R. Talbot, seconded by Mr H. J. Stowell, the following remit was passed:—"That the Government be urged to ensure that country blacksmiths had the necessary material for immediate work.” A further remit. “That resellers of petrol be allowed to sell petrol to licensed customers after hours, as farmers were being penalised because of the restricted hours of sale, ' moved by Mr H. J. Stowell and seconded by Mr Arden, was carried.
