Clandeboye Co-op. Dairy Company Annual Meeting Held The thirty-second annual meeting of the Clandeboye Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, was held on Monday. Mr J. Donehue, who presided, congratulated shareholders on a very successful year’s operations. At a subsequent meeting of directors, Mr T. H. Symes was elected chairman and Messrs G. Langrell, R. T. Sherrill and G. Wallace were elected to the directorate. After moving the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, which was carried unanimously, the chairman made a comprehensive report on the activities of the South Canterbury Calf Pool Committee and emphasised the importance of farmers refraining from sending in immature and underfed calves. Mr Donehue said that complaints had been received regarding the number of unsuitable calves reaching the works and the committee wished to point out that all suppliers must comply with the Government regulations, which required a calf to be at least three days old and not less than 251 b dressed weight and 501 b live weight. Mr J. Donehue was elected to represent the company on the South Canterbury Pool Committee, and Mr G. H. Mulligan was appointed representative on the local Primary Producers' Committee. A vote of thanks to the manager (Mr J. Craig), the secretary (Mr F. J. Robertson) and the staff terminated the meeting. Directors’ Report The annual report of the board of directors states that the estimated season average payout per pound for butterfat 'al! grades), which was quoted in the report for the previous year, was 18d. The actual season payout which was finally made was 18d, In respect of the current year, the valuation basis adopted for cheese on hand at the balance date was: Export. 8.4? d per lb; local, 9d per lb, and the estimated season average payout per pound for butterfat (all grades) which should result from the disposal of the unsold cheese at the values adopted should be 18.25 d. TEA AND SUGAR FOR DAIRYMEN The provision pf an extra allowance of tea and sugar for early morning and afternoon tea for dairy farmers and their employees has been made by the Rationing Controller, according to information received from Mr F. J. Robertson, company secretary, Temuka. In future provision for this supply will not be made through the local rationing officer, but permits will be issued direct from Wellington for distribution by the local dairy companies to their suppliers. Mrs Mclnnes, Mrs Temple v. Miss B. Joynt, Miss McShane .v. Mrs Mosley, Miss Paterson v. marker. ’PERSONAL Mr and Mrs W. Scarlett, who have been the guests of Mr and Mrs E. Butler. Hayhurst Street, have returned to Willowbridge. Mrs D. L. Brown, who has been spending the holidays with her brother, Mr J. Spencer, has returned to Christchurch. SEVERE GASH IN LEG Mr David Phiskie, of Clandeboye, while chopping wood yesterday, inflicted a severe wound in his left leg with the axe, necessitating the insertion of several stitches.
