LAWN TENNIS TOWN AND COUNTRY ASSOCIATION
SENIOR FINAL TO-MORROW At a meeting of the Temuka Town and Country Lawn Tennis Association Mr R. Armstrong presided. A disappointing response was received from juniors to avail themselves of the coaching scheme arranged by the South Canterbury Association. In the A grade competition Geraldine, Temuka Park and St. Joseph’s are equal with 12 points. Geraldine, having lost most of their players to the Army, withdrew, thus leaving St. Joseph’s and Temuka Park to play off to-morrow on the Presbyterian courts. Seadown won the B grade with an unbeaten record. It was decided, owing to prevailing circumstances, to abandon the mixed doubles tournament this year. The championship singles will be held on March 28 on the Temuka Park courts. Appreciation of the services of Mr J. Slattery, who has been treasurer for many years and is now in camp, and Mr R. Brenton was expressed.
