BOWLING FOURS COMPETITION
NINE TEAMS QUALIFY The women's bowling tournament was advanced a further stage yesterday, when the fours competition was played. The weather was again ideal, and the two greens used. West End and Kia Toa, were in perfect condition. The entries, which totalled 26, were fewer than in previous years, but the standard of play was good. At the end of the day there were two teams with four wins and seven with three, all of whom qualified for the concluding games to-day, which will be played on the Timaru green. The final of the pairs will also be played on Timaru. Those who qualified yesterday were: » West End Green Four wins Mesdames Barker. Brownie, Maclaren, C. J. Dewar (s) (West End). Three wins—Mesdames Stoddart. Campbell. Davey, Entwhistle (s) (West End); Mesdames Minifie, Hunt, Urquhart, Butiher (s) (Kia Toa); Mesdames Clark, Whitton, Luck, Henshaw (s) (Ashbury); Mesdames Soanes, Gibson, Kay, Palmer (s) (Shirley). Kia Toa Green Four wins—Mesdames Baker, Arnst, Lough, Osborn (s) (West End). Three wins—Mesdames Mulligan, Kemp. Miss McQueen, Mrs Rusbatch (s) (Awamoa); Mesdames Adams, Shepard, Crisp, Greenfield (s) (Kia Toa); Mesdames Bremner, Jamieson, Miss Symington, Mrs Ashton (s) (Phoenix). Draw for To-day The draw for the fours, Timaru green, at 8.30 this morning, is:—Mrs Entwhistle v. Mrs Osborn. 10.15 a.m.—Mrs Butcher v. Mrs Henshaw; Mrs Rusbatch v. Mrs Palmer; Mrs Dewar v.
