POLICE BOMBSHELL
Transfer Of Association Officers (Rec. 9.45 p.m.) SYDNEY. Feb. 21. An industrial bombshell has been hurled into the ranks of the New South Wales police by the announcement that all 17 officers of the Police Association, including the president, vice-president and executive have been transferred from their posts in the city and suburbs to widely scattered towns in the country. Tire men were paraded before the police commissioner (Mr Mackay) on Friday when he was inquiring into criticism of the police billeting scheme under which all police in the metropolitan and Newcastle areas are called upon to spend one night in four in special billets at strategic points.
