FINGERS BLOWN OFF
GISBORNE. Feb. 21. Injuries to the hands were suffered by a young Maori. Smiler Wi Rangi. who was admitted to the Cook Hospital from Matawai. Wi Rangi was handling some explosives on the Moanui station when an explosion occurred prematurely. His injuries included the loss of some fingers.
