WAIMATE AUTUMN SHOW

Display Of Flowers Knox Church Fixture A most attractive display was staged at the autumn flower show held by the Presbyterian Church yesterday. In addition to the sections for flowers, there were classes for fruit and vegetables, cookery and needlework. The show was officially opened by the Mayoress (Mrs W. F. Boland). The Judges were: Cut flowers and shrubs, Mr N. M. Morrison; vegetables and fruit, Mr J. Hutt; decorative section, Mrs G. T. Hennessy; domestic, Mrs J. Tennant; sewing and knitting, Mrs J. C. Hurst. All Scouts, Guides, Cubs and Brownies will assemble at Fail's comer at 2 p.m., and headed by the Waimate bands will march to Victoria Park, where a demonstration will be given of camp life and signalling. An E.P.S. demonstration depicting an air raid on Waimate will also be included in the programme.
