BOWLING
TIMARU CLUB The final of the singles championship of the Timaru Bowling Club was played last night between J. A. Lee and D. Menzies, and resulted in a win for Lee by 19 points to 18. As in previous games between the pair, there was practically nothing between them, and either was worthy of the championship. With 15 heads gone the score was 14 all. and Lee secured one on the next. Menzies notched a good two on the seventeenth, but Lee again evened on the succeeedipg head. Menzies secured one on the next two he- J .s, leaving him two up when the last head commenced. He was short with '-is first two bowls, and Lee drew two shots. Menzies played the forehand with his third and was over the head. With his last Menzies changed his hand and was right up to the shot bowls. He was a trifle too heavy and though he touched the white, failed to hold it and ran through, leaving his opponent ample room in which to draw a third shot, which he did to take the title.
