OFFENSIVE PATROLS

Searchlight Post Destroyed LONDON, February 18. Royal Air Force fighters to-day carried out a number of offensive patrols over Northern France. They attacked locomotives and demolished a searchlight position. An enemy bomber was shot down to-day off the East Coast and an Air Ministry communique in announcing this states that an enemy aeroplane dropped bombs on a town in East Anglia, killing a small number of people and damaging several houses. Bombers of the R.A.F. carried out raids on North-West Germany last night and all returned safely. However, two Coastal Command bombers are missing from operations carried out yesterday.
