MAY GO TO CROWN
£l7OO WORTH OF JEWELS . LONDON. January 5. Reference was made at a St. Pancras inquest to jewellery said to be wortli about £l7OO worn by Miss Annabella Yolanda Ravera, aged 32, when she was found dead in the well of a lift shaft at flats in Regent’s Park, London. After the coroner, Mr Bentley Purchase, had recorded a verdict of accidental death, Mr Fior, for representatives of Miss Ravera, asked that the jewellery be handed to him. He proposed to deposit it in a bank, insure it and notify the Treasury. "There is a possibility that in the end it may go to the Crown, which needs all the money it can get,” he added. It is understood that the jewels have to be retained to ensure they do not pass into the possession of any relative who may be an enemy subject.
