GUERRILLAS IN BIG BATTLE
Axis Forces Fought For Two Days LONDON, February 17. General Mikhailovitch’s guerrillas fought the Axis occupation forces for 48 hours on the outskirts of Lebane, southwards of Nish, states the Istanbul correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph." The Serbians bombed Bulgarian military objectives, also lines of communication. The Serbian losses were 180. Guerrillas are again active in the south and south-west of Serbia. They attacked and severely damaged a German and Bulgarian military train on the Belgrade-Nish main line. The train was held up until the arrival of rescue parties. Another party of General Mikhailovitch’s men in north-east Serbia destroyed a Magyar patrol. The Hungarians, in retaliation, killed 45 innocent people in Novisad. In reply to General Mikhailovitch’s promotion, General Neditch, the Nazi puppet leader, has similarly promoted Colonel Babltch, head of the State Police to the rank of General. General Babitch Is actually a German named Schindler.
