That Private W. H. (Wes.) Jack, of Timaru, who was recently reported missing, is now a prisoner of war was announced over the Vatican radio on Monday night. At a meeting of the committee of the Tlmaru Trotting Club yesterday u motion of sympathy was extended to Mr A. Trilford, caretaker of the course, in the death of his mother, Mrs S. A. Trilford, on January 19, and of an infant son on January 26.
