Poles Aided By Russia
(Rec. 6.58 p.m.) RUGBY, Dec. 7. That M. Stalin toasted Poland and said that Poland was stronger than before the war was the best expression of friendship and mutual aid .if the Soviet-Polish declaration, stated General Sikorski at a Press confcrtr*e at Kuibyshev yesterday.
The declaration, he said, was the first agreement of this kind signed by the two States. M. Stalin had copsented to the creation of a Polish army several times greater than the present two divisions, said General Sikorski, who added that the Poles had been armed by the Russians, British and Americans. General Sikorski disclosed that Polish civilians and soldiers would be transferred further south, and that ti® situation of invalids, aged women and orphans would be discussed in the spirit of friendship and mutual good faith which had prevailed throughout the conference.
