CHEAPER AIR MAIL
America And Canada
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 10. The Postmaster-General (the Hon. P. C. Webb) announces a reduction in tlie air mail rate on correspondence forwarded to Canada by trans-Pacific and trans-United States air mail services. From to-morrow the postage rate on such correspondence will be 4/- per half-ounce. Previously correspondence which the senders desired to be conveyed by air mail all. the way to Canada required to be paid for at the rate of 5/- per half-ounce, the 4/- rate ensuring air mail conveyance only as far as the United States. Henceforth for all air mail for the United States and Canada forwarded from New Zealand by the trans-Pacific service there will be one rate only of 4/- per half ounce.
