MEN FOR OVERSEAS
Burnham As Training Camp
(P A ) WELLINGTON, Sept. 11. Papaktira and Bumham camps are to continue to be used for the training of a certain number of men to go overseas with the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force, according to a statement made this morning by the Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones). Mr Jones said that in Connection with the recent announcement that future reinforcement drafts for the2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force would be trained at Trentham Camp, it had not been found possible, within the time available, to provide in Trentham Military Camp the . extra accommodation necessary to receive all personnel of the next reinforcement draft and that a portion of the draft would be trained in mobilisation camps at papakura and Burnham. Mr Jones added that the infantry and Maori reinforcements from the Northern Military District would be trained at Papakura, and that the infantry reinforcements from the Southern Military District would be trained at Burnham.
