Six Appointments

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 8. The appointment Of six members of the Legislative Council was announced by the ACthlg-i’fime Minister (the Hon. W. Nash) to-day. They are Messrs T. Bloodworth (Auckland), E. R. Davis (Auckland), J. McLeod (Taranaki), Walter Black (Nelson), F. G. YOuhg (Auckland), P. J. O’Kane (Frasertown. Hawke’s Bay). Of these the first three are reappointed. The others are new members. Mr Walter Black, who has been appointed to the Legislative Council, is president of the Nelson branch of the Labour Party, a member of the Manpower Committee and Government nominee on the Nelson Fire local L.R.C., a member of the Nelson Board. He was a city councillor from 1931 to 1935. He is the proprietor of a bakery business in the city.
