FOOTBALL REPRESENTATIVE GAME

North Otago v. South Canterbury The South canterbury representative Rugby teaih play their return match Against North Otago at Frftser Park to-day. In their previous meeting at Oamaru, North Otago ran out winners by 11 points to 4 after a bright exhibition in which the difference between teams was not aS wide as the scores appeared to indicate. South Canterbury, then playing their first ifiateh of the season, gave promise of developing into a polished combination and to-day on their home ground they have their chance to prove themselves. The team is much the same as that which took part in the first encounter, although B. Morrison, who suffered an injury last week, has been replaced at first five-eighth by W. Kelly. Another change is the replacement of H. Wilson by M. Cleland as emergency for the backs. The North Otago team is a young but impressive combination with one or two players who should make their mark in the game. Spectators Will be interested to see B. Robertson, the exWditaki High School player, in action, and the versatile captain, R. Hammill. The visitors are partial to the fast passing game and a sparkling exhibition should be given. INTER-SCliObL FIXTURE On Monday the Tlmaru Boys’ High School first fifteen will play its final fixture for the year agaihst Southland Boys’ High School at Fraser Park. in the match against Waitaki BOys’ High School, the Tlmaru team showed outstanding ability and greatly impressed the spectators with the fast, open football which is played. The match against Southland Boys’ High School should be ah even better test of the merits and adaptability of the team, for the southern players have had an exceptionally successful having lost only one match and that by a narrow margin. Their success has been due to the fine work of a fast, well-belanced ahd hard packing set of forwards backed up by a steady back division. The clash between the fine Southland forwards and the brilliant Timaru backs should provide a splendid finish to this season’s secondary school games. The following are the teams:— Timaru: K. N. Nicholas, R. c. Halliday, D. M. Gibb, J. de B. Galwey, D. B. Kibblewhite, A. R. Marshall, N. A. Bracefield, A. A. Fisher, J. H. Langford (capt), D. L. Scott, W. H. G. Walsh, R. A. Andrews, J. S. Luke, D. 8. McKehzle, R. G. Aihge. Emergencies, G. W. Pratt, I. King, G. A. Harrison, P. D. Hasselberg, W. B. McConnell.
