NEWSPRINT
Conservation Of Use (P.A.) WELLINGTON, June 19. Regulations designed to conserve the use of newsprint in New Zealand have been issued with to-night’s Gazette. These regulations are corollary to the Newspaper Proprietors’ Association’s recent announcement of a reduction in the consumption of newsprint of from 45 to 50 per cent on the 1938 basis. The regulations provide that no new publication will be permitted except with the consent of the factory controller, and they also make other stipulations regarding the use of newsprint to ensure that conservation will be effected.
