WOMEN’S DIVISION

BOOK BRANCH Miss G. Tiffen presided over a good attendance at the June meeting of the Hook branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union. Advice was received about the Country Women’s Week to be h-ld in Tlmaru and also about the Dominion conference. Mrs H. Mason offered to give a demonstration of making paper nigh-dress covers at the next meeting. The monthly competitions resulted as follow:—Hospital tray-cloth, Miss W. BeU 1, Miss G. Bruce 2, Mrs G. MacKenzle 3. Vase of flowers, Miss W. BeU 1, Mrs A. Leathwlck 2, Miss J. Langley 3. Special bloom, Mrs H. Henderson 1, Mrs A. Leathwlck 2. Miss W. BeU and Miss J. Langley (equal) 3. The competition arrenoed by the hostesses, Mesdames Carter, Rose' and Miss G. Tiffen, was won by Mrs G. Mackenzie. ,
