PEEL FOREST Paragraphs from soldiers’ letters made interesting readtag at the monthly meeting of the Peel Forest Women’s Institute. Mrs A. Taylor presided over a good attendance of members. A talk on physical fitness was given by Mrs C. Kerr. The golden thread, taken by Mrs Scott, was on “A Book I Like.” The competitions resulted as follows:—Khaki cake, Mrs O. Woodtag 1, Mrs C. Kerr 2, Mrs F. Caln S; autumn shoulder spray, Mrs Foden 1, Miss Foden 2, Mrs Reid 3: article of read, white and blue, Mrs Taylor 1. Mrs Reid 2. Mrs Heney 3; (var knitting, Mrs C.' Woodtag 1, Mrs Foden 2, Mrs Taylor 3. Hostesse- for the aftemc n were Mrs Reid and the Misses Reid.
