STRIKE OF CONVICTS
TROUBLE AT DARTMOOR . LONDON, April 16. There has been more trouble among convicts at Dartmoor. Recently there was a raid alert at the prison, and, as is normal under those circumstances, the convets were let cut of their cells. They congregated in the hall. There they surrounded two officers on duty, abused them, threatened them, and jeered at them for several minutes. Ultimately the two officers got away, and five of the convicts were reported. The Governor then decided on minor disciplinary action, and immediately all the convicts at Dartmoor went on strike, refusing to go to work until the Governor received a deputation from them. ... After the Governor had heard the deputation the strike ended.
