Iceland Breaks Union With Denmark STOCKHOLM, May 21,. Iceland has again become a wholly independent State. The Charge d’Affaires (Mr Finsen) announced that Parliament had voted for a severance of the union with Denmark which has operated since 1918. A Regent is being elected to taka over the duties formerly exercised by King Christian of Denmark. Mr Finsen added that Iceland was devoted to the Danish Crown but present difficulties, mainly connected with communications, necessitated a severance. _________
