A SUMMER TIP

IVAR’S EFFECT ON THE FEET War work will cause extra strain on our feet this summer and it is well to start taking precautions at once. Here is a good tip to keep the feet in good condition. Wash them morning and night first in hot then tepid water; finally put a few drops of eau de cologne into cold rinsing water, and splash this over the feet. If the feet tend to grow hot they will sweat. Here is a remedy. Soak the feet in warm water to which has been added sufficient permanganate >f potash to make the water the colour of pink blotting paper, morning and night. Make quite sure that you thoroughly dry the feet after washing. Into each stocking sprinkle a little boracic powder. Never wear a pair of stockings more than one day. Don’t endure foot trials through corns and callouses. Visit the chiropodist. The small expense is not a luxury but a necessity. It is impossible to give of your best when your feet are aching. Many women who are careful about their shoes fitting disregard the importance of well-fitting stockings. Too small stockings are the cause of many foot troubles. If you are doing much standing don't wear high heels. Medium height ones are better for your health —and your looks.
