GAOL FOR LOOTING
Auxiliary Firemen Sentenced By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright (Received November 24, 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 23. Six auxiliary firemen were each sentenced to five years’ imprisonment at the Old Bailey for looting. Six other sentences against men in London courts ranged from a year to three weeks. Two women received two months each. Mr Dunne, the Marylebone magistrate, said looting was getting out of hand. The only way to end it was to let everybody know that they would be dealt c with promptly and severely. Sabotage of Aircraft Ernest Coles, aged 31, a fitter, was sentenced at Bristol to four years’ penal servitude for sabotage in connection with aircraft at Bristol in October. The case was heard in camera.
