ST. ANDREWS

At the last meeting of the St. Andrews Women’s Institute, Mrs L. R. Bell read a letter from Mr Toomey (secretary of the Makogai Leper Fund) thanking members for their parcel of gifts also donations of money. Preliminary arrangements were made for the annual picnic in the Domain. Christmas novelties were very much in evidence at a roll call. A sales table with Mrs J. Trimble in charge, did good business. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses Mesdames Barber and Williams and Misses Moyle and Kane. The competitions resulted as follows: Best bloom, Miss E. Arden (stock) 1, Mrs J. Kane 2, Mrs Bannerman 3. Date loaf, Miss W. Arden 1, Mrs J. Trimble 2, Mrs Cook 3.
