WOMEN’S DIVISION
GERALDINE Mrs W. S. Crotty, at the November meeting of the Geraldine branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union, spoke of the Paddy’s Market held last month and thanked members for their assistance. A vote of sympathy with Mrs A. Lysaght in her recent bereavement was carried in silence. The secretary of the Geraldine Young Farmers’ Club wrote asking for the branch’s cooperation in organising a dance for patriotic funds. Mesdames W. 8. Crotty, H. Hill and G. F. Bailey were appointed a sub-committee for this purpose. Mbs C. Stock was thanked for her gift of sugar basins and tea towels. The president gave an account of the South Canterbury executive meeting held in Timaru. The dressmaking classes would be continued in the new year. Miss R. T. Robins, of the A.C.E., gave an address on nutrition and faults in New Zealand diet.
