British Nationals From Soviet United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright HONG KONG, November 19. The Hong Kong Government has appealed for summer clothing for the trip to Australia of 180 British subjects who have arrived from Riga after an arduous journey across Siberia. The average temperature was 40 degrees below zero, and many of the children were suffering from pneumonia and croup. Many members of the party, who are the wives of Estonian nationals, were glad to resume British status and leave the Soviet which, they said, was “half starved.” One business man said: “Russia cannot spare anything for Germany, in spite of any agreement.” He added that throughout the entire trip he saw renewed Russig.ii apprehension of German aggression.
