SECOND CANADIAN SQUADRON

LONDON, This Day The Second Fighter Squadron of the Royal Canadian Air Force will shortly arrive in Britain. ATTACK ON GERMANY United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received This Day, 1.40 am.) LONDON, November 19. A small force of Royal Air Force bombers attacked an oil target in central Germany last night. An Air Ministry communique says: Enemy 'planes last night dropped a small number of bombs on Merseyside, one area in the Midlands and scattered points in southern England causing a few sma’l fires. The damage everywhere was slight and casualties were small. Fighter patrols co-operating with anti-aircraft batteries, aided by bad weather, kept raiders from London, but relays over Liverpool directly bombed a house. Four children of a family of eight were dug' out dead. The search continues under the debris. Sixteen persons were rescued from a nearby reinforced basement.
