Dominion Casualties By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, October 13. Tlie following air casualties were announced to-day:— Sergeant Colin McKenzie Laird, R.N.Z.A.F., previously reported missing on air operations, now reported a prisoner of war, but confirmation is awaited. His mother is Mrs J. Laird, 15 Parkes Avenue, St. John’s Hill, Wanganui. Sergeant Alfred Barnett Witton, R.N.Z.A.F., previously reported missing on air operations, now reported a prisoner of war, but confirmation is awaited. His father is Mr F. J. Witton, Kopane, Palmerston North. Advice has been received of the death in air operations of Pilot Officer Robert Young, youngest son of Mr and Mrs J. C. Young, of Palmerston North. Pilot Officer Young was educated at St. Andrew’s College, Christchurch. Later he served at the Bank of New South Wales at Palmerston North and Patea before joining the Air Force, in which he gained the distinction of rising from the rank of air gunner to his latest rank. A short time ago he shot down two German machines.
