REPORT OF NAVAL BATTLE

Admiralty Awaiting Full Information United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, June 9. The Admiralty announced that it has received information appearing to indicate contact yesterday between British and German naval forces in northern waters. No further statement will be made until full reports are received. The German High Command to-day stated that German naval units destroyed the troop transport Orama, also the aircraft carrier Glorious. Another German communique states: “German naval forces operating in the North Sea sank two destroyers, the oil tanker Pioneer, and a submarine chaser in addition to Glorious and Orama. Several hundred Allied troops were taken prisoner.” The Admiralty does not comment oi the German claim to the sinking of the Orama.
