BOY ATTACKED BY SHARK

Gallant Attempt At Rescue United Press Association —By Electric Telegraph —Copyright (Received January 23, 10.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, January 23. While swimming with two companions at North Brighton Beach today Maxwell Farrin, aged 13. was attacked by a 10-foot shark and killed. The attack was made about 50 yards from the edge in four feet of water. The shark with one bite severed the boy's leg and portion of his abdomen. A nearby resident. Sydney Owen, risked his life by swimming to the boy who had drifted out, to bring him ashore while the shark was only 10 feet away. The boy died when brought to the beach.
