Donald Budge reveals that his income for his first year as a tennis professional was 85,000 dollars. He expects a sharp drop in 1940. because professional tours are unlikely. He favours open tournaments, but emphasises that professionals will presently outclass amateurs, and suggests that if the Davis Cup contest lapses temporarily, amateur and professional team matches would be useful.
