Centennial Regatta Results Of Saturday’s Races By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON. January 21. Brilliant sunshine, a light northwesterly breeze and smooth water favoured the first day of the New Zealand Centennial yachting regatta on Wellington harbour on Saturday. More than 170 boats, some of which had competed in the national sailing championships earlier in the week, took part, and the regatta was on a scale never previously attempted in Wellington. The results of the championships were:— 18ft Centreboarders Manene (Auckland) 1 Marlene (Lyttelton) 2 Manaia (Auckland) 3 Manoa (Auckland) 4 Limerick. Aquila, Maramaru, Jeanette and Tiare. all of Auckland, sailed the wrong course. 14ft Centreboarders Innocence (Wellington) 1 Putorino (Wellington) 2 Kitty (Wellington) 3 Twenty-one started. Idle-Alongs Luana (Canterbury) 1 Rose Marie (Tauranga) 2 Damfino II (Wellington) .. ..3 Forty started. Takapunas Damfino I (Wellington) 1 Manuka (Wellington) 2 Lyla (Auckland) 3 Fifteen started.
