Stewart, made their I first appearance in Christchurch on I their New Zealand tour on Saturday | night. Walsh captured the crowd’s I enthusiasm with brilliant sprinting. i The local competitors were unable to I offer serious competition to him or to I Stewart. Clayton was not in form and i withdrew from the later events. Walsh 1 won the mile invitation scratch race in l2min. 9 3-ssec, with Stewart second.
