BAGDAD, January 18.

A former police inspector entered the office of the Minister of Finance in Iraq (Rustam Haidar) and shot him with a revolver He was later arrested. Rustam Haidar is in hospital. The bullet entered his side and passed through his abdomen. The Minister’s condition is grave. His assailant was dismissed four years ago owing to bad conduct.
