WEDDING

RANKIN—CHARTERIS The wedding took place at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Wellington, of Doris Evelyn, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs Walter Charteris, Marston Road, Timaru, and Raymond Blake, youngest son of Mr and Mrs John Rankin, Karori. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Inkster. The bride who was given away by her father, wore a powder blue tailored frock with powder blue hat. Her bouquet was of Christmas lilies, white sweet peas, cream roses and maidenhair fern. Miss Jessie Charteris, the bride’s sister, who was the only bridesmaid, wore a light grey tailored frock, with white hat. Her bouquet was of pink roses, pink sweet peas, and maidenhair fern. Mr G. Hillen was best man. The guests were received by Miss Jean Turner and the bridegroom’s mother, Mrs Rankin, the former wearing a grey tailored costume with navy accessories and the latter a brown tailored costume with accessories to match.
