COURAGEOUS NEW ZEALANDERS By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, January 17 The Dominion executive of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association has received the following letter from the general secretary of the Federal Executive of the Returned Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Imperial League of Australia, Melbourne: “I am directed to offer your association this league’s heartiest congratulations on the magnificent part played by the courageous New Zealanders in H.M.S. Achilles during the recent battle which resulted in he defeat of the German raider Admiral Graf Spee and another sea victory for Britain. Ex-servicemen and women of Australia are proud of the achievement of those who worthily upheld the glorious traditions of the Anzacs.” This tribute has been rewarded to the Navy Department for transmission to the Achilles.
