A short notice auction sale of superior household furniture, electrolu”, good linen and blankets will be held by A. N. Oakey and Co. to-morrow commencing at 1 p.m. at 21 Maltby Aevnue under instructions from 'he trustees of the late Mrs Jane Cairns.
The Scottish Society’s weekly dance was a success. Many members of the expeditionary force were the guests of the Society. The dance programme suited all tastes. The winners of the novelty competitions were: Misses Williams and Best, Messrs Blizzart and Williams.
A smoke concert in honour of old Boys departing on overseas service is being organised by the Timaru High School Old Boys’ Association on Wednesday evening in the Bay tea rooms. This will probably be the final opportunity for a function of this nature before the first echelon departs and all old boys are urged to attend.
