In response to demands by 50,000 students who were celebrating the opening of the academic year, Signor Mussolini made a speech from the Palazzo Venezia. He said: “In accordance with Fascist custom and for a precaution, keep your rifles alongside your books. The Fascist peace is an armed peace.” The students spasmodically shouted. “Tunis! Corsica!”
